Phil Houston
Trusted and Experienced Real Advisor
It has been my honor to serve my real estate clients for over 34 years. During that time I have guided many families, couples, individuals and investors in making smart real estate purchases and sales. In this day of instant gratification, my method is simply this: I think of my clients first, last and always. 34 years of a successful real estate career was not achieved by taking short cuts and giving bad advice. It was by respecting and honoring my clients’ wishes and needs and providing them with expert guidance.
My life before real estate was in sales and management for a national company where I was awarded top sales agent in the United States and served as Market Development Director for the Southeastern United States, in addition to being a sales trainer for the company. I started my real estate career in 1988 as an agent and over the course of that time I have received many awards including a number of top 15 finishes for the DeKalb Board of Realtors, Gold Phoenix Award, RE/MAX Hall of Fame as well as an Elite Associate with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Georgia Properties where I have been an associate broker since 2019. Along the way I also served RE/MAX Executives as managing broker for 12 years. One of my greatest joys over this time has been helping my fellow agents succeed in the real estate business.
I am a proud Georgia Bulldog, 2021 National Football Champions, having graduated from UGA in 1969 with a BBA degree in Management and was a member of the UGA Wrestling Team. Community Service has always been important to me as reflected in past membership in Rotary International, Toastmasters International (Ga. Toastmasters Hall of Fame), past service on the Board of the Decatur/DeKalb YMCA and the Alpharetta YMCA. My wife, Carol, and I have always lived in Atlanta with the past 24 years spent in Alpharetta, Ga. where we serve the community by delivering Meals on Wheels to seniors.
Traveling and spending time with our 4 children and 8 grandchildren is one of our greatest pleasures. We are members of the Johns Creek United Methodist Church where I have served as past chair of the Board of Trustees and currently serve as chair of the Church Council. I have been known to knock a little white golf ball around every now and then and a little known fact: I wrote and published a children's book in 2015.
